A basic aspect of a lineage, ie, the line of descent, descent from a family or clan, is the series of ancestors and / or descendants of a person regarded as the first of a common trunk or branch, in this case Kiyoshi Morinaga and Toyama-Ryu School.
In no “Western” cultures, lineages are often as important as they are, many orders are established for subjects, establishing a location symbolically Corresponding every family equally, lineages tend to establish inheritance and other forms of rights.
The lineages have not only served, but still serve to establish lines and thus the chances of inheriting or even the location or place of life, for example (although not always) called matrilineage may involve a matrilocation ( where you live offspring) or vice versa if it is a patrilineage.
The study of family lineage is a limited study only focuses on the barony (patrilineal line) or in the navel line (matrilineal line) of a person is in ascending or descending order. In Japan, there has never ceased to cultivate this kind of studies and therefore there are very well documented data works lineages and clans.
The Bloodlines of Koryu Bugei or Gendaï Budo did not deviate from these linear concepts, highlighting the Menkyo receiving a legacy of school, whether blood or not, ie, in similar – genealogical terms, teachers who succeed as leaders “Kyokaï” from the Founder as Kancho.
